Solder-It Makes That, Too? Yes, We Do!

With a name like Solder-It, you’d expect us to be the experts in all things soldering. We are, but we make some other useful products, too.

At Solder-It, we’ve been designing and manufacturing our popular butane soldering irons and torches for more than 20 years. These soldering tools have become the industry standard for many who work with electronics assembly and other installations and repairs. We know this work, so we use our knowledge to develop products that provide best-in-class operation. We’ve applied that same concept to products that fall outside the world of soldering. We’d like to tell you about three of them.

Solder-It Catalytic Converter Cleaner/Deodorizer

Have you ever smelled that rotten egg scent when your vehicle is running? That odor is a telltale sign of a dirty catalytic converter. Everyone at Solder-It doesn’t like this any more than you do, so we decided to do something about it. The result is this fuel additive that cleans your catalytic converter. It also helps clean your car’s EGR valve, combustion chamber, and oxygen sensor.

Using this product helps extend the life of your catalytic converter. To help you, we made it very easy to use, Just follow these three steps to clean your catalytic converter:

1. Add 16 ounces of this fluid to a full tank of gas. (Be sure to use a funnel.)
2. Drive your vehicle until the gas tank is nearly empty before refilling the tank with fuel.
3. Repeat this process every 6,000 miles, or two times a year.

For faster results, you can try this method:

1. Run the engine until it is fully warm.
2. Remove the air cleaner with the engine running at a fast idle.
3. Pour the catalytic converter through the carburetor throat then replace the air cleaner.
4. Remember to dispose of any used cleaner according to federal, state, and local regulations.

Solder-It Screw Grab Liquid

Have you ever stripped a screw? It can happen to anyone, and it doesn’t mean that you’re clumsy or did something wrong. Sometimes, a screw head just slips beneath the head of your screwdriver, and bam! The screw instantly gets stripped. Have you ever wished that there was something that could remove or tighten stripped screws?

We did too, and we took that extra step and made something that solves this problem.

Introducing the Solder-It Screw Grab. It works with slotted, Phillips, Allen, square, and Torx screw heads. Put one dab of this thick liquid into the head of the stripped screw. It quickly dries and creates a positive grip between the metal surface and your tool. Now you can tighten or loosen the screw. (We recommend replacing the stripped screw with a functional fastener.)

Solder-It Micro-Therm Solder Terminal Kit

Okay, this product kit is close to our mainstay of soldering irons and butane torches. In fact, it comes with our Micro-Therm 600 heat gun and a heat reflector. That said, this tool kit is not used for typical soldering work. It has a very specific application, and that is to heat shrink and crimp wire terminations.

This is the perfect product kit for anyone who wants to create tough, environmentally sealed wire terminations. Our products help you protect wires from pull-outs, abrasions, and mechanical abuse. Sealing terminals also helps protect them from water, salt, and other contaminants. Our tool kit comes with everything you need to do that.
